Preparing a property tax grievance?

This page is an attempt to assist property owners in the City of Hudson, NY who want to prepare their own property tax grievances contesting their assessments as set forth on the Tentative Assessment Roll, which is typically issued by a municipality on May 1.

We have tried to aggregate as much relevant information in one place as possible. The material herein is not legal advice; for that you need to consult an attorney.  It simply provides links and information regarding some formats and methods for assembling property tax grievances that have generally been accepted by the City of Hudson’s Board of Assessment Review in prior years. Hope it’s helpful.

A Note from Kamal:

Like many of you, I’m concerned about the mismanagement of this entire assessment process, and its impact on residents throughout the City of Hudson. I understand that people are not only frustrated about their assessments, but about not being heard. We need leadership in Hudson that will listen to the concerns of all its residents, and represent them with fairness and transparency.
